- From advertising or analytics technology where you have consented where consent is required.
4. How and why we use your information
Where UK GDPR applies, we use personal information only where we have a lawful basis.
To provide the Service — performance of a contract
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Provide trade logging, journals, reports and analytics;
- Provide Pattern Analysis, Personal Trading DNA, strategy and goals features;
- Import data from an account you choose to connect;
- Provide AI-assisted features you request;
- Process trials, subscriptions and payments;
- Send essential service, security and account communications; and
- Provide customer support.
To operate, secure and improve Trade Optic — legitimate interests
We may use information to:
- Keep the Service secure;
- Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access;
- Diagnose technical issues;
- Improve features and user experience;
- Understand aggregate Service use;
- Protect our legal rights; and
- Respond to legal claims or disputes.
We only rely on legitimate interests where your rights and interests do not override ours.
With your consent
Where required, we rely on consent for:
- Non-essential cookies;
- Advertising pixels;
- Certain analytics or measurement tools; and
- Marketing communications where consent is required.
You can withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect processing that took place lawfully before withdrawal.
To comply with legal obligations
We may process information where necessary to meet legal, regulatory, accounting, tax or record-keeping obligations.
5. Broker connections
Trade Optic currently supports different connection methods depending on the broker.
Some brokers may connect through a direct API. Other accounts may connect through MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 using MetaApi. Other eligible brokers or exchanges may connect through the provider portal made available through SnapTrade.
When you choose to connect an account, we and the relevant provider process only the information required to establish and maintain the connection and import relevant trading data.
Connection credentials, access tokens and similar secrets are protected using appropriate technical safeguards, including encryption where applicable. You should never share your Trade Optic password with a broker or connection provider.
A broker connection can be disconnected through the Service where that functionality is available. Disconnecting stops future synchronisation, but does not automatically remove information already imported into your Trade Optic account. You can request deletion of your account or applicable data as explained below.
Broker connections depend on third parties and may change, fail or become unavailable. You should always verify important information against your broker's official records.
6. AI features
Trade Optic may use artificial intelligence to provide summaries, insights, pattern analysis, conversational assistance, screenshot or chart analysis, and other features.
To provide these features, relevant information you submit may be processed by an AI provider. This may include your prompt, journal entries, trade data, strategy information, analytics and screenshots or charts that you choose to upload.
Our current AI provider may include OpenAI. We seek to limit the information shared to what is reasonably necessary to provide the requested feature.
Do not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information into AI prompts or uploads. AI outputs may be inaccurate or misleading and should not be treated as financial advice.
7. Payments
Stripe processes Trade Optic subscription payments.
Stripe may process your payment-card details, billing information and payment authentication directly. We receive the limited payment and subscription information needed to activate your trial or subscription, manage billing, identify failed payments and respond to support requests.
Stripe's use of information is governed by its own privacy documentation.
8. Service providers and sharing
We may share personal information with carefully selected providers where necessary to operate Trade Optic.
These may include:

We do not sell your personal information.
9. Cookies and advertising
Trade Optic uses cookies and similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, authentication technologies and, where enabled, analytics and advertising tags.
Essential technologies are used for core functionality, authentication, security and preferences. Non-essential cookies, analytics and advertising technologies are used only where permitted and, where required, only after you provide consent through our cookie banner or settings.
Where you grant Marketing consent, Trade Optic currently uses the Meta Pixel to measure website visits and certain conversions (such as Early Access waitlist signups). The Meta Pixel is not loaded, and advertising events are not sent, until Marketing consent is given. You can reject or withdraw Marketing consent at any time through Cookie Settings.
Trade Optic does not currently operate a TikTok Pixel or Google Ads pixel on the Service. If additional advertising technologies are introduced later, this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated.
More detail is available in the Trade Optic Cookie Policy.
10. International transfers
Some providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where this occurs, we will use safeguards required by applicable law, which may include UK adequacy regulations, approved contractual safeguards, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum or another legally recognised transfer mechanism.

13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. These may include access controls, encryption in transit, encrypted secrets where applicable, secure hosting, authentication controls, monitoring and payment processing through Stripe.
No internet-based service can be guaranteed completely secure. You should keep your Trade Optic account credentials confidential and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
14. Children
Trade Optic is intended only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly provide the Service to children.
If we learn that an under-18 person has created an account, we may restrict or delete that account and associated information where appropriate.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Trade Optic develops, including when we add features, connection providers, advertising technologies or legal requirements.
Where a material change is made, we will provide notice where required. The "Last updated" date shows when this policy was most recently changed.
